How uletstudents works

uletstudents has everything you need to find your ideal place to live and it’s easy and completely free to use.

There’s no need to waste time trawling through dozens of different sites: a quick search with us can help you find exactly what you’re looking for. And once you’ve found a property, you can arrange a convenient viewing appointment in minutes.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Search

  • Fill in the details for the search. Tell us where you want to live and how many bedrooms you need.
  • We’ll display a list of all currently available properties which match your requirements. Clicking on the property thumbnail, or ‘More Details’ button, will bring up all the relevant information we have for that accommodation.

Step 2: Request Viewings or More Details

  • Once you’ve narrowed your choices down you can arrange a viewing. Each individual property page contains a form for contacting the landlord to arrange viewings (or simply to request more information).
  • The form can be accessed from either the individual property page or by clicking on the ‘Arrange a Viewing’ button on the ‘Search Results’ page.
  • It is important that you include an appropriate telephone number and email address, so that the landlord can contact you easily.
  • Tip: It is always a good idea to arrange viewings for a number of properties at the same time, as this will give you a much better chance of finding a property that meets your requirements.

Step 3: Wait for the Landlords to Contact You

  • Once you have submitted your request, our system will immediately call the landlord and let them know you are interested in their property. If it’s a convenient time for them to speak with you, uletstudents.com will immediately call you and connect you directly to the landlord. Depending upon what time you ring, (for example, don’t expect at call back at 4.00am in the morning) it may sometimes take a little longer, but the landlord will call you back as soon as it’s convenient. Our system is fast and efficient, so during office hours there’ usually no waiting around.
  • Once the landlord contacts you, they will be able to arrange a viewing time and answer any questions you may have.

Step 4: Choose Your Home

  • Demand for student accommodation in the city is really high. Once you’ve viewed a property you are interested in you will need to make a decision fairly quickly. The landlord is likely to have others who want to view their property. We recommend that if you find a property you like, you contact the landlord within 24 hours of your viewing.

Step 5: Pay Your Deposit and Sign Your Tenancy Agreement

  • To secure your property you will need to pay the landlord a deposit. This will usually be a sum between £100 and £300 per person depending on the landlord. You will also need to sign a tenancy agreement which details your rent payments and responsibilities while you are living in the property, as well as your landlord’s responsibilities.
  • This is an important document and protects your rights just as much as it does the landlord’s. Make sure you keep your copy safe.
  • Now you’ve found your new home you can relax, party hard and, if you find the time, maybe do a bit of studying.
